Charlie Brown.

The Peanuts® Charlie Brown 1 oz Silver Round brings one of the world's most beloved comic characters to precious metal, combining one troy ounce of silver with more than seven decades of Peanuts history.

For collectors of silver, comics, nostalgic memorabilia or classic American popular culture, Charlie Brown represents something much bigger than a cartoon character.

He is the kid who keeps trying.

The baseball manager whose team keeps losing.

The boy who can never quite kick the football.

And despite everything:

Charlie Brown always comes back for another try.

The Birth of Peanuts®

The story began with cartoonist Charles M. Schulz.

On 2 October 1950, Peanuts made its newspaper debut.

What initially appeared to be a simple comic strip about a group of children would eventually become one of the most influential and successful comic strips in history.

At the centre of it all was:

Charlie Brown.

Recognisable by his round head, single curl of hair and famous zigzag shirt, Charlie Brown became the emotional heart of the Peanuts universe.

“Good Grief!”

Charlie Brown wasn't created as the perfect hero.

Quite the opposite.

Things frequently went wrong.

His baseball team lost.

His kite became trapped in the infamous Kite-Eating Tree.

He struggled to speak to the Little Red-Haired Girl.

And every year Lucy convinced him that this time — definitely this time — she would hold the football while he kicked it.

Then she pulled it away.

Again.

And Charlie Brown went flying.

His famous reaction became one of the best-known expressions in comic-strip history:

“Good grief!”

Charlie Brown and Snoopy

Of course, you can't tell Charlie Brown's story without:

Snoopy.

Charlie Brown's imaginative beagle eventually became one of the most famous cartoon characters in his own right.

While Charlie Brown worried about everyday life, Snoopy could become almost anything in his imagination.

A novelist.

A lawyer.

Joe Cool.

Or the legendary World War I Flying Ace, battling the Red Baron from the roof of his doghouse.

Their personalities couldn't have been more different.

Yet Charlie Brown and Snoopy became one of popular culture's most enduring partnerships.

More Than a Comic Strip

Peanuts grew far beyond newspaper comics.

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the gang appeared in books, merchandise, television specials, films and countless other forms.

Perhaps none became more beloved than:

A Charlie Brown Christmas.

First broadcast in 1965, the animated television special became a holiday tradition for generations.

Then came It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and numerous other animated productions.

The characters crossed generations.

Parents who had grown up reading Peanuts introduced Charlie Brown and Snoopy to their own children.

One Troy Ounce of Silver

This collectable takes that extraordinary pop-culture history and combines it with something completely different:

Precious metal.

Containing 1 troy ounce of silver, the round offers both the tangible appeal of physical silver and the collectability of officially themed Peanuts memorabilia.

That crossover makes character-themed silver particularly interesting.

To a bullion collector, it is physical silver.

To a Peanuts collector, it is Charlie Brown memorabilia.

And to someone who grew up with the characters, it can simply be a piece of nostalgia struck in precious metal.
